The Reagan-Udall Foundation has selected Clinton-era FDA commissioner Jane Henney to spearhead a 60-day review of the agency's food safety and tobacco division operations, Politico reported.

Henney, the agency's first female leader, has yet to be officially announced.

FDA Commissioner Robert Califf made the move to try to shake off several controversies he dominated the second time he ran the agency, including his marketing denial order (MDO) to e-cigarette maker Juul Labs, The order had to be revoked later.
