JUUL Electronic Cigarette is negotiating to sell or cooperate with the three major tobacco companies

2023-01-30

Blue Cave New Consumer Report, January 27th, according to the Wall Street Journal report, Jumul Labs is negotiating with the leading cigarette manufacturers on cooperation, alliance or selling its business.

According to the newspaper, JUUL executives have discussed with Philipmoris International Corporation, Japan Tobacco Corporation and Opi Asia Group.

Sources of the Wall Street Journal pointed out that the negotiations are still in the early stage and may not lead to the partnership of the sale. Opi Asia Group, which has a third of JUUL, has valued $ 1 billion in this electronic cigarette company in October.

Jum was once an indisputable leader in the US electronic cigarette market, but last year, the US Food and Drug Administration rejected its marketing application and ordered the company to withdraw its products out of the market.

The order has been waiting for the appeal, but the dispute that has not been resolved makes JUUL difficult to raise funds to pay its legal liability. In December last year, JUul agreed to pay a widely legal reconciliation of $ 1.7 billion, covering more than 5,000 lawsuits that accused the company selling their products to young people and children. JUUL denied for minor consumers.

In order to pay the transaction fee, JUUL has received equity investment from a group including two JUul directors. The reconciliation and financing allowed Jum to stand firm and allow the company to start negotiating with potential strategic partners.

On September 30, Opiia announced the termination of the bidding agreement with JUUL. This decision allows Jum to freely sell himself or a large number of shares to one of Aochia's competitors.

Due to antitrust issues, Ochiya could not directly acquire JUUL: The Federal Trade Commission is seeking to cancel Opi Asia's investment in JUUL in 2018. Octoba and Japanese tobacco form a partnership in October, develop and sell heating tobacco equipment in the United States, and develop and sell other new tobacco products abroad.

If the FDA finally stops JUUL's sales, JUUL may seek the updated version of the vaporization device and the British JUul that the United States has released in Canada.
