2022-09-08

News on September 8, according to foreign reports, North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley announced on Wednesday, September 7 that JUUL Labs and 34 states and territories reached business marketing and sales practices.

North Dakota will receive about $6 million in monetary relief under the settlement, to be paid over six to 10 years, he said, adding that in addition to the financial terms, the settlement provides a series of measures designed to limit JUUL's marketing and Important and strict prohibition clauses for sales practices.

"We are delighted to be a part of this important and historic consumer protection effort to protect young consumers targeted by misleading vaping advertising and marketing."

Until recently, JUUL was the dominant player in the e-cigarette market.

A multi-state investigation revealed that JUUL gained market position by deliberately engaging in advertising campaigns that appealed to young people, even though its e-cigarettes were illegal for them and unhealthy for young people.
