2022-07-19

On July 13, the customs inspection site of Qingdao Jiaodong Airport seized a passenger who did not declare the entry of excessive heat-not-burn pods. A total of 3,600 heat-not-burn pods were seized.

On the same day, during the process of supervising the luggage items of passengers on inbound flights, the customs officers at the passenger inspection site found that the images of the luggage items carried by one passenger were abnormal, and neatly arranged strips were displayed in the backpacks and handbags. After inspection, it was found that in addition to personal clothing and daily necessities, the passengers' backpacks and handbags also carried 18 pieces of 3,600 heat-not-burn pods of the same foreign brand.

Cigarettes are items restricted by the state, and new tobacco products such as heat not burn should be implemented with reference to the relevant regulations on cigarettes. Visitors from Hong Kong and Macau and mainland residents who travel to and from Hong Kong and Macau for private purposes can bring 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, or 250 grams of shredded tobacco into the country; other passengers can bring 400 cigarettes or 100 cigars duty-free , or 500 grams of cut tobacco.

At present, the customs temporarily detain the above-mentioned HNB pods and proceed to the next step in accordance with the law.
