In addition, overseas is still the main market for electronic cigarettes, and the scale will exceed 100 billion US dollars. The global e-cigarette market has maintained rapid growth and is expected to exceed US$108 billion with a growth rate of 35% in 2022.

At present, there are more than 1,500 electronic cigarette manufacturing and brand enterprises, and more than 70% of the enterprises mainly export their products overseas. There are nearly 100,000 e-cigarette supply chain and surrounding service companies.

In terms of patents, domestic e-cigarette patents are mainly concentrated in the field of liquid e-cigarettes.

During the ten years from 2012 to 2021, the total number of domestic patent applications was 28,838, of which liquid electronic cigarette patents accounted for 93.0%, with a total of 25,954. Electronic cigarette patent applications have emerged in the past three years.

In the past three years, the number of patent applications per year has been more than 5,000; since the fourth quarter of 2021, the number of patent applications has increased every month. The total number of patent applications in 2022 is expected to exceed 7,000.

The main consumer market of electronic cigarettes is concentrated overseas, but the production end is concentrated in Bao'an, Shenzhen, and an industrial cluster has been formed.
