2022-10-22

Blue Hole New consumption report, October 22, according to foreign news reports, in the latest analysis of convenience store data by Nielsen, Vuse brand e-cigarette market share compared with Juul, has expanded the lead to 12 percent.

Nielsen's analysis, released Tuesday, covered the four weeks ending Oct. 8. Vuse's market share increased to 40 percent from 39.7 percent in the previous report, while Juul dropped to 28 percent from 28.1 percent.

Nielsen mainly covers large chains, according to Barclays, a bank. For smaller chains, the group extrapolates trends, which is why Nielsen doesn't see an immediate change in trend, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.

In recent months, U.S. retail shelves have threatened to ban Juul Labs Inc. The shadow of the electronic cigarette has accelerated Vuse's market share growth.

Meanwhile, third-place NJoy was flat at 2.8%, while Fontem Ventures' blu eCigs was flat at 1.4%.

Juul's 4-week dollar sales in the latest report have dropped from a 50.2% increase in the August 10, 2019 report to an 18% drop in the latest report.

By comparison, Reynolds' Vuse was up 42% in its latest report, while NJoy was up 5.9% and blu eCigs was down 30.9%.
