On August 23, according to foreign reports, VPZ, the largest e-cigarette retailer in the UK, announced that it intends to open 10 more stores by the end of this year.

At the same time, the company called on the UK government to impose stricter controls and licensing on the sale of vaping products.

According to the press release, the business will increase its product portfolio to 160 locations in England and Scotland, including stores in London and Glasgow.

VPZ made the announcement as it brings its mobile vaping clinics across the country.

Meanwhile, government ministers continue to promote vaping, with Public Health England claiming that the risks of vaping are a fraction of the risks of smoking.

However, according to data from Action on Smoking and Health, research last month showed a dramatic increase in underage vaping over the past five years.

VPZ director Doug Mutter said the VPZ is spearheading the fight against the nation's number one killer, smoking.

"Our plans to open 10 new stores and launch our mobile vaping clinic are 100% responsive to our ambition to reach more smokers across the country and help them take the first steps in their quitting journey."

Mutter added that the vaping industry could improve, calling for greater scrutiny of those selling the products,

"Right now, we have a challenge in this industry, with many unregulated single-use vaping products readily available at local convenience stores, supermarkets and several other general retailers, many of which have no age verification controls or regulation," Mutter said.

"We urge the UK government to take immediate action and follow best practice in countries such as New Zealand, where flavoured products can only be sold from licensed specialist vaping shops, where a Challenge 25 policy is in place and targeted at adult smokers Consult with e-cigarette users.”
